Hey there, I'm so happy to be finally releasing my very first crochet pattern, the Dreamy Petal Shawl! This pattern uses the corner to corner (a.k.a C2C) crochet method which makes this shawl very flexible and cozy. This pattern is perfect for adventurous beginners. The size of this shawl is more suited to be a scarf or light shawl, perfect for cool nights in spring or summer.
You can get the pattern on my Etsy store, here: https://etsy.me/3QdMBBX
The pattern comes with photo and video tutorials for the pattern and I will be available to help you with any queries you might have while making this shawl.
I recently brought this Yarnspirations Caron Latte Cake on clearance and after brainstorming some ideas, I thought it would make the perfect shawl for spring coming up! This was my first time using this yarn and I'm a little sad that this project is over because it was a dream to work with (hence the name). I will definitely be trying to get my hands on this yarn again when it comes on sale!
I have grown to love this crochet technique (C2C), it is so adaptable when you're making an item, which means if you want your object to be larger, you can just keep going until you are satisfied. The other great thing about this pattern is that it doesn't matter what yarn you use, as long as you have the base stitches correct, you can again keep going until the object is at the right size for you!
I've shared the details on what is required for the pattern here, to give you more information before buying the pattern.

Materials
Yarnspirations Caron Latte Cakes Yarn (52% Acrylic 48% Nylon, 250g, Approx 485m)
One cake, in colour 'Plum Fresh', was used in this pattern
Size 5mm hook
Tapestry Needle
Scissors
Alternative yarn suggestions: any light weight yarn would suit this pattern, but I think a cotton or cotton blend would suit this shawl well for the cooler nights in spring or summer.
Stitches
This pattern uses US crochet terms
CHAIN (CH)
DOUBLE CROCHET (DC): Yarn over (YO), insert your hook, YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through two loops, YO, pull through remaining two loops
SLIP STITCH (SL ST): Insert your hook, YO, pull up a loop, pull loop through loop on your hook
Size
GAUGE: 5 rows = 10cm (measured from the side), 4 rows = 10cm (measured from the middle), each shell measures approx. 2cm.
Finished object measures 95cm long, 145cm wide on the wingspan, finished shape is a triangle.
If you are using different yarn, the guage may be different, which isn’t too important, but you can adjust it by changing your hook size.
