Hey friends, today I wanted to share with you my first stitch tutorial for, what I like to call, the Pumpkin Stitch (aka the Griddle Stitch).
When I was designing myself a garment, I wanted to use a stitch I'd never used before. I did a lot of research and none of them quite matched the look I was going for. I discovered this stitch by accident while I was testing some swatches and I thought it would be perfect! Turns out, the stitch already exists and it's called the griddle stitch, but I became too attached to the name I came up with to change it.
This pattern uses US terms
This stitch is made up with a mix of Single Crochet (SC) and Double Crochet (DC)
Chain
Even number of chains
Row 1
DC into the 3rd chain from the hook, SC in next chain, repeat *DC, SC* until the end, chain 2, turn
Row 2
Repeat *DC, SC* until the end. Make sure you always start a row with a DC, and end every row with a SC
Repeat row 2

I absolutely love this stitch and I've been having such a great time using it with my latest project, I hope you try it out and enjoy it just as much as I do.
